People living near a water department facility in Pottsboro had to leave their homes for close to three hours Tuesday evening after a chlorine leak, KTEN reported.

The leak came from the 200 block of Sherman Drive, at a water department site in the Preston Shores area. According to the Grayson County fire marshal, a woman working at the facility was swapping out a chlorine bottle when it fell and began leaking.

First responders moved people near the site out as a precaution while they checked the situation. No injuries were reported, according to the station.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office said local fire crews and the county fire marshal responded, and it asked people to keep away from the area and follow instructions from officials while crews worked, KXII reported.

Neither the sheriff's office nor the fire marshal had released further details, such as how many homes were evacuated or how much chlorine escaped, in the reports published Tuesday night.
