Children in Howe will get an early round of trick-or-treating this year, five days before Halloween, when the Howe Area Chamber of Commerce brings its Downtown Howe-lloween Festival back to the center of town.

The festival runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, in downtown Howe, according to the chamber's event listing, which gives 110 E. Haning St. as the location. KXII also included the event in its roundup of 2026 Halloween events around Texoma.

How it works

The chamber's listing describes the evening as a chance for children to go trick-or-treating from vendor to vendor downtown, and for those vendors to promote their businesses while they hand out treats.

  • For families: Admission is free to the public.
  • For vendors: A space costs $30. The listing says spaces are available but does not give a sign-up deadline or say how many booths the chamber expects.

The listing does not mention a costume contest, street closures or a rain plan. Businesses interested in a booth can contact the chamber through its event page.

Other dates on the calendar nearby

KXII's roundup lists several other free trick-or-treat events in Grayson County:

  • Van Alstyne, Saturday, Oct. 24: Downtown Trick or Treat from 4 to 7 p.m., with a costume contest starting at 4:30 p.m. at Dorothy Fielder Park.
  • Tom Bean, Saturday, Oct. 31: A Trunk or Treat starting at 5 p.m. and continuing until the candy runs out.

Halloween itself falls on a Saturday this year.
