Howe, Texas — Gas prices in the Sherman-Denison area averaged $3.2340 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 4, 2026, according to AAA, up from $3.2270 yesterday. That is up from $3.1380 a week ago but lower than $3.6250 a month ago.

The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.3330, while the national average is $3.8100. Drivers in the Sherman-Denison area are paying below the state average and below the national average.

The Sherman-Denison average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8150. Regular prices are about 39 cents lower than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.6140, drivers are paying about 62 cents more per gallon.

Diesel in the Sherman-Denison area averages $4.1680 per gallon, AAA reported.
