Howe, Texas — Gas prices in the Sherman-Denison area averaged $3.8845 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 24, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.9326 yesterday. That is down from $3.8877 a week ago and higher than $3.5606 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9569, while the national average is $4.4825. Drivers in the Sherman-Denison area are paying below the state average and below the national average.
The Sherman-Denison average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8150. Regular prices are about 32 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.6130, drivers are paying about 127 cents more per gallon.
