Howe, Texas — Gas prices in the Sherman-Denison area averaged $3.9514 per gallon for regular unleaded on October 2, 2026, according to AAA, up from $3.9216 yesterday. That is up from $3.8628 a week ago but higher than $3.6258 a month ago.

The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9397, while the national average is $4.3961. Drivers in the Sherman-Denison area are paying above the state average and below the national average.

The Sherman-Denison average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8150. Regular prices are about 33 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.6485, drivers are paying about 130 cents more per gallon.

Diesel in the Sherman-Denison area averages $5.6536 per gallon, AAA reported.
