Sixth-Inning Surge
The Houston Astros overcame an early deficit with a massive offensive outburst in the sixth inning, scoring eight runs to take control of the game against the Chicago White Sox. The momentum shift began when Yordan Alvarez drove in a run with a single to right field, making the score 5-1.
The inning quickly turned into a rout as Yordan Walker doubled to left, bringing home three more runs to give Houston a 4-5 lead. Alex Bregman followed with a home run to left field, extending the advantage to 6-5.
Jose Altuve reached on an infield single to add another run, and Alvarez scored again on a walk from Yordan Walker, pushing the score to 8-5 before the inning concluded.
White Sox Early Lead
Chicago held a narrow 5-0 lead entering the bottom of the sixth, thanks to strong early scoring. The White Sox jumped out to an early advantage in the first inning. Andrew Vaughn scored on a sacrifice fly by Luis Robert Jr. in center field.
Nick Madrigal singled to right, allowing Luis Robert Jr. to score, and later advanced to third on a hit-by-pitch from Andrew Vaughn. In the fifth inning, the White Sox added two more runs. Andrew Vaughn scored on a wild pitch by Houston pitcher Kai-Wei Teng, and later, Andrew Vaughn scored again on another wild pitch.
Luis Robert Jr. doubled to center field, bringing Vaughn home to make it 5-0.
