The decisive momentum shifted in the sixth inning when Wade Jr. homered to right field for 409 feet, driving in Diaz to extend Houston's lead. This two-run blast proved crucial as the Astros closed the gap after an early back-and-forth first inning.
Early Inning Exchange
The game began with immediate offense. In the top of the first, Peña homered to center field for 435 feet, giving the Astros an early lead. The Mets responded in the bottom of the first when Lindor homered to right field for 383 feet, followed by Soto hitting a 396-foot home run to center field. The score was tied 1-1 after the first inning. In the second inning, Peña singled to center field, allowing Diaz to score and Allen to reach third base, which put Houston back in the lead. The Mets tied the game again in the fifth inning when Torrens grounded into a double play, but Ewing scored on the play.
Late-Inning Surge
Houston reasserted its lead in the sixth inning with Wade Jr.'s home run. The final blow came in the seventh inning when Varsho grounded out to first base. An error by first baseman Young allowed Altuve to score, and Paredes also crossed the plate, while Walker was safe at third base on the error. This sequence added two more runs to the Astros' total, sealing the 6-3 result.

Ethan Pecko earned the win, pitching five innings while allowing three hits and two earned runs. He struck out four batters and walked two.
