Late Surge Decides It

In the third, Carlos Correa scored on a single by Yordan Alvarez, but the Yankees took a 3-2 lead when Freddie Freeman homered to right, driving in two runs. The game remained tight, with Houston taking a 5-3 lead in the fifth on a single by Alvarez that scored Alvarez.
New York tied it 5-5 in the sixth when Aaron Judge homered to left center, scoring Diaz. The Yankees regained the lead in the seventh when Juan Soto doubled to right, scoring Rizzo. Diaz homered to right in the eighth to tie the game at 6-6 before the decisive sequence mentioned above.
