Patrick Overmyer caught four touchdown passes from Conner Weigman, providing all of Houston’s touchdown receptions in a 35-16 victory over Kansas State on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas.
Houston strikes early and often
Overmyer’s 1-yard touchdown reception from Weigman put the visiting Cougars ahead 7-0 in the first period. Kansas State answered with Luis Rodriguez’s 29-yard field goal, but Houston controlled the second period. Overmyer scored again on a 2-yard pass from Weigman, and Makhi Hughes added a 13-yard touchdown run. Jonathan Dimas made the extra-point kicks on both Houston touchdowns, leaving the Cougars ahead 21-3 at halftime.
Houston’s advantage grew in the third period. Overmyer caught an 8-yard touchdown pass from Weigman for a 28-3 lead, then Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson connected with Garrett Oakley on a 13-yard touchdown pass. The Wildcats’ two-point pass conversion failed. Overmyer’s fourth touchdown, a 2-yard reception from Weigman, restored Houston’s 26-point lead at 35-9.
Kansas State adds late score
The Wildcats finished the scoring in the fourth period when Johnson passed 6 yards to Jaron Tibbs for a touchdown. Rodriguez kicked the extra point, making the final score 35-16.
Houston led 7-3 after one period, added 14 points in the second and scored 14 more in the third before being held scoreless in the fourth. Kansas State’s period totals were 3, 0, 6 and 7.
