Howe ISD families who want to get a flu shot without a separate trip to the pharmacy will have an after-school option next week.
The district is hosting a flu shot clinic on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Howe High School lecture hall, according to a post on the district's news feed Friday. The clinic is open to Howe ISD students and their families.
Passport Health is providing the vaccines. The district says the clinic will take cash, Zelle or most insurance plans. The post did not list a price for those paying out of pocket.
Seniors: a free application week
The district also used its feed this week to remind high school seniors about a fee-free stretch for college applications. From Oct. 12 through 18, students can apply to participating Texas public colleges and universities through ApplyTexas without paying application fees, according to the district.
Counselors are steering seniors back to the college application checklist handed out at their most recent senior meeting, which was also emailed to students. The district invited students with questions or who need help with an application to reach out to campus staff.
