The recently released season 15 of "King of the Hill" on Hulu showcases the influence of Richardson, Texas, on the fictional town of Arlen. All 10 episodes were made available on July 20, marking the second season since the show’s revival in 2025, with a renewal already confirmed through season 17.
Co-creator Mike Judge has acknowledged that he modeled Arlen after Richardson, where he lived in the 1990s while developing the series. Although Arlen is a composite of various Dallas-area suburbs, the essence of the community is evident in its wide streets and backyard grills. This season, the connection is more pronounced with the inclusion of the University of Texas at Dallas, located in Richardson.
Notable North Texas landmarks also appear in the new episodes, including Hank Hill repairing Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas and a cameo by Whataburger. The storyline follows Hank and Peggy as they navigate retirement on Rainey Street, while their son Bobby, now an adult, manages a restaurant in Dallas.
The voice cast features familiar names, including Mike Judge and Kathy Najimy, continuing the series' legacy with local ties.
