HOWE, Texas — The Howe Community Library has been selected as a 2026 Texas Book Festival Library Grant recipient, a recognition that will bring additional literary resources to the small Grayson County community.
The Texas Book Festival awards grants to public libraries across the state each year, supporting collection development, technology upgrades, and programming. The grant program is funded by proceeds from the annual Texas Book Festival, held in Austin.
Howe Community Library serves a town of approximately 3,800 residents and is operated as part of the city's public services. The library provides access to books, digital resources, and community programming for residents of all ages.
The Texas Book Festival, established in 1995 by former First Lady Laura Bush, has awarded more than $3 million in grants to over 600 Texas public libraries. The 2026 grant cycle recipients were announced this week.
