A vehicle accident on Sunbeam Road resulted in injuries to two women from Grayson County on Thursday afternoon. Emergency services, including the Leitchfield Police and Fire Departments, responded to the scene around 3:15 PM, located in the 400 block of Sunbeam Road at its intersection with Mulberry Street.
According to reports, the incident occurred when an elderly female driver from Leitchfield, operating a Kia Rio, attempted to turn onto Mulberry Street. During this maneuver, her vehicle collided with a Ford Escape driven by another woman from Grayson County. The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the road and into nearby ditches.
First responders transported the elderly woman to Baptist Health Hardin for medical treatment. The driver of the Ford Escape was taken to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by private means. Further details regarding the extent of their injuries have not yet been provided.
