The University of North Texas Libraries has added a digital archive to its Portal to Texas History featuring historical newspapers from Howe. The collection contains 1,316 items spanning six decades and three distinct titles, all published in English. These documents record the growth of the North Texas community and Grayson County from 1910 onward.

The city of Howe was originally known as Summit until 1876. The name changed because the location, situated at 810 feet above sea level, was believed to be the highest point between the Gulf of Mexico and the Red River. The digital collection was created ten years ago and received its last update seven years and eight months prior to the current date. The archive is categorized under one partner organization and represents a single county within one state and country. Usage statistics for the collection stand at 38,159 accesses.
