Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently listed as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as reported by head coach Dave Aranda. The team remains hopeful that Lagway will be fit to participate in their next match against Prairie View A&M.

Lagway suffered the injury during the Bears' close 17-16 loss to Auburn in their season opener. Despite the setback, he played the entire game, demonstrating effective leadership on offense, although his movement was restricted.

In his first game with Baylor, Lagway completed 27 passes out of 54 attempts, totaling 333 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception. He was instrumental in a late-game comeback, overcoming a 17-10 deficit.

Lagway made a crucial 28-yard completion to Gavin Freeman on a pivotal fourth-and-10, and then connected with Jadon Porter for a 27-yard gain that advanced the Bears to the Auburn 5-yard line. He finished the drive with a touchdown pass to Freeman from five yards out, scoring just nine seconds before the game ended.

Updates regarding Lagway's recovery are anticipated following practice on Tuesday and Wednesday as the team continues to assess his condition.
