As the Baylor Bears prepare for their upcoming season, significant changes are occurring within the offensive line. With only one full-time starter returning, Kaden Sieracki at right tackle, the team is adapting to new dynamics.
Complicating matters is the exit of Yakiri Walker, a Memphis transfer who had been anticipated to take on the center role but is now serving as a coach after his injunction was denied.
In Walker's absence, Koltin Sieracki is stepping up as a prime contender for the center position. Offensive line coach Austin Woods mentioned that Koltin has been receiving ample practice time throughout the summer and is ready to start against Auburn. Woods commended Sieracki's leadership and performance, stating, "he's done a great job of leading and communicating and playing some really high level football right now."
Koltin Sieracki, standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 317 pounds, served as Baylor's sixth lineman last season and has started games at both right guard and center. Although initially slated for guard this season, he has shifted his focus to center, a position he prefers. "I actually prefer center," Sieracki remarked, sharing his comfort and enjoyment of the physical demands of the role.
The offensive line configuration continues to evolve, with Nate Kibble, a Texas transfer, and Asher Hale from South Alabama reportedly working alongside Sieracki at guard.
Logan Moore, a transfer from UAB, has been assigned to left tackle, while Cole Rhett, who transferred from Toledo, is being tested in various roles, indicating he may be vying for a starting position or could take on Sieracki's previous sixth lineman spot. Woods noted the consistent improvement of Rhett and Hale as they gain experience during fall camp.
