The Dallas Cowboys have reached agreements this week with receiver Ryan Flournoy and tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford, extending both players beyond the 2026 season. The contracts could total $24 million even though neither player has yet put together a breakout season.
Flournoy’s extension covers one additional season and could be worth $6 million through 2027. In 2025, he recorded 40 catches, 475 receiving yards and four touchdowns. A report said he is expected to become Dallas’ established No. 3 receiver and can play all three receiver spots in the Cowboys’ 11-personnel formations.
The contract could help preserve continuity among the team’s leading receivers if George Pickens leaves after the current season.
Spann-Ford agreed to a three-year contract that runs through 2029 and includes up to $18 million, with $12.075 million guaranteed. After joining the NFL in 2024 as an undrafted free agent, he competed with Luke Schoonmaker for the backup tight end role behind Jake Ferguson last season.
The agreements differ from the Cowboys’ earlier practice of waiting for players to establish themselves before offering long-term contracts. Previous examples cited in the report include extensions for Terence Steele, Jaylon Smith, Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland.
