Dallas Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson is expected to be unavailable for at least four weeks because of a hamstring injury. Stephen Jones, the team's executive vice president, provided the estimate Monday, while Dallas has not said whether Thompson will be placed on injured reserve. He is considered a possible candidate for the list.
Thompson left during the second quarter of Dallas' 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. His injury further reduces the team's available safeties. Malik Hooker has been out for two games because of a forearm injury, and P.J. Locke went on injured reserve Saturday with a foot injury.
Prior to his exit, Thompson had been on the field for every defensive play across Dallas' first nine-plus quarters of the season. He had made 17 tackles during that span.
