The Packers have agreed to add guard Laken Tomlinson, reducing Dallas’ practice-squad group to two offensive linemen. NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported the move. The Cowboys signed Tomlinson earlier this month when All-Pro guard Tyler Smith went on injured reserve after thumb surgery. Tomlinson did not appear in Dallas’ first two games, and his Green Bay debut date is unknown.
Tomlinson, 34, entered the NFL as Detroit’s first-round pick in 2015. He has played in 173 games and started 162 across 11 seasons. His career also includes stops with San Francisco, the New York Jets, Seattle and Houston, where he appeared in 10 games in 2025. He made the Pro Bowl with the 49ers in 2021.
Marcellus Johnson and Wanya Morris are now Dallas’ practice-squad offensive linemen. Johnson is listed at tackle and has not played in an NFL game. Morris has lined up at both tackle spots in three seasons.
Smith can return after Week 4. Green Bay has had offensive-line injuries, including Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele missing Week 3. Bako-Bewele suffered a torn patellar tendon and will miss the season.
Jordan Love has been sacked eight times, while Pro Football Focus credits Green Bay with 57 pressures in three games. Tomlinson allowed three sacks and 11 pressures for Houston last season. Dallas visits Green Bay in Week 6, and no further details on Tomlinson’s role were provided.
