The Cowboys will have four defensive players unavailable against the Ravens in Brazil: cornerback Cobie Durant, safeties Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown. None practiced Wednesday or Thursday, and the group will not travel to Rio de Janeiro. Dallas and Baltimore are both 1-1 entering the matchup.
Durant, who joined Dallas this offseason after four seasons with the Rams, opened the first two games and logged 87 defensive snaps. He injured his hamstring in last Sunday’s victory over Washington and was expected to miss multiple weeks. Hooker has been out since breaking his forearm in the opener against the New York Giants, in which he started before leaving after 12 defensive snaps.
Locke replaced him in the Washington game, then sustained a torn plantar fascia after 31 defensive snaps.
Overshown will miss his second consecutive game because of the hamstring strain he suffered in the opener. He started that game and recorded seven tackles. Jaishawn Barham is expected to take on a bigger role again, while second-year cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. is also expected to play more with Durant out.
The game is set for 3:25 p.m. CT at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, where Dallas is designated the home team. Sports.yahoo.com published the report.
