The Houston Texans are weighing offensive-line adjustments before Sunday’s AFC South matchup with the Indianapolis Colts in Indianapolis. Houston dropped a 20-6 home decision to the Cincinnati Bengals and enters the game at 0-2.
Coach DeMeco Ryans discussed the line Wednesday at the Houston Methodist Training Center. Cincinnati pressure reached C.J. Stroud on 45.5% of his dropbacks, and the Texans gained only 18 yards on 12 rushing attempts.
Right tackle Trent Brown received much of the attention for his struggles against the pass rush. Blake Fisher, Notre Dame’s second-round selection in 2024, is among the players who could be considered for the job after a strong training camp. Wyatt Teller also could move into a full-time guard role beside rookie center Keylan Rutledge.
Houston has not announced whether Fisher or Teller will start.
Indianapolis will be without receiver Alec Pierce, who went on injured reserve because of a heel injury. The Colts added veteran Darius Slayton and put Eli Pancol on their practice squad. Josh Downs, Keenan Allen and rookie tight end Tyler Warren are available among the team’s other receiving choices, with Taylor serving as an underneath option.
