Texans Adjust Roster with Waivers and Trades Ahead of Season Opener

The Houston Texans have made significant roster changes in preparation for their Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills. A total of 22 players have been waived, including prominent figures like quarterback Brett Rypien and wide receiver Zay Jones.

Among those released are Lewis Bond, a wide receiver from Boston College, and Dominic Bailey, a defensive tackle from Tennessee. The Texans also let go of linebacker Caleb Johnson and tight end Brevin Jordan, both of whom have notable experience in the NFL.

Additionally, the team has traded center/guard Jarrett Patterson to the San Francisco 49ers and acquired tackle Nathan Thomas from the Dallas Cowboys. Several players have been placed on the Reserve/Injured list, including safety Ja'Marcus Ingram and wide receiver Tank Dell, both of whom are eligible for return. Defensive end Ali Gaye is also on the Reserve/Injured list, while linebacker E.J.

Speed has been moved to the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.

These roster modifications come as the Texans prepare for their season opener at Reliant Stadium, where they will face the Buffalo Bills. Further information regarding the Texans' roster and any additional changes remains unclear.
