Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte addressed the media following his trade from the New England Patriots to the Houston Texans. This press conference occurred a week after the trade, where Boutte shared his thoughts on the Texans and the motivations for his move.

Boutte had sought a trade during the offseason, primarily due to his desire for a more significant role. The signing of Romeo Doubs to a four-year, $68 million contract and the acquisition of A.J. Brown, involving first- and fifth-round draft picks, altered the Patriots' wide receiver lineup.

As a result, Boutte found himself as the fourth wide receiver in training camp, trailing Doubs, Brown, and DeMario Douglas.

Despite a strong performance in the 2024 season with 42 catches for 719 yards and seven touchdowns, Boutte faced the possibility of being inactive on game days, as noted by head coach Mike Vrabel after the preseason's final game.

Boutte responded to Vrabel's comments by stating he perceived them as a candid evaluation and chose not to let them affect his mindset, focusing instead on his future with the Texans.

Further information about Boutte's role with the Texans and his adjustment to the new team was not disclosed during the press conference.
