The Houston Texans have acquired wide receiver Kayshon Boutte from the New England Patriots in a trade that involved sending safety Jaylen Reed and a seventh-round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft to New England.
This move comes as the Texans aim to improve their roster following the season-ending injury to wide receiver Jayden Higgins, who suffered a torn ACL during a joint practice with the Raiders on August 19.
Boutte, a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, will continue his career in Houston, where the Texans are looking to reclaim the AFC South title from the Jacksonville Jaguars. In his two seasons with the Patriots, Boutte participated in 29 games, achieving over 500 receiving yards each year and catching nine touchdown passes across the seasons.
However, his playing time decreased this offseason after the Patriots acquired AJ Brown and signed Romeo Doubs.
