Dallas will be without four defensive players when it faces Baltimore in Brazil on Sunday. The unavailable players are linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, safeties P.J. Locke and Malik Hooker, and cornerback Cobie Durant. Three of them are defensive starters. Locke, Dallas’ third safety and a key reserve, also will be absent against an offense led by quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry.
None of the four practiced during the week, and they did not travel to Brazil. The Cowboys’ defense finished among the bottom three in total defense in 2025 and ranks 29th out of 32 teams after the first two games of this season.
Stephen Jones, the team’s executive vice president, said Overshown and Hooker might be available for the Week 4 matchup at Houston. Overshown has a hamstring strain, while Hooker is coming back from a fractured forearm. Those injuries happened in the season opener against the Giants, and both missed Dallas’ Week 2 win over Washington.
Overshown is the defense’s signal caller. Neither player has been cleared, and the report did not indicate that either is likely to return. Durant is sidelined by a hamstring injury, and Locke has a foot injury.
Neither is expected to be ready for Houston.
