The TCU Horned Frogs have confirmed a matchup against the Northwestern State Demons for the football season in 2028. This game is scheduled for September 2, 2028, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. TCU will pay Northwestern State a guarantee of $600,000 for their participation, as outlined in a contract obtained through public records.
This will be the second time TCU and Northwestern State meet on the football field, with their first encounter dating back to 2001, when the Demons won 27-24 in overtime. Northwestern State University, located in Natchitoches, Louisiana, is part of the Southland Conference within the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and is currently under the leadership of head coach Blaine McCorkle.
The addition of this game finalizes TCU's non-conference schedule for the 2028 season. Before facing Northwestern State, TCU will kick off their season at home against Louisiana on August 26 and will travel to Duke on September 9.
The Big 12 Conference has yet to announce TCU's conference opponents for that season, but the team is anticipated to have five home games and four away games. Northwestern State is also set to host Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.
