Nico Collins’ status for Houston’s Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts remains undecided after the wide receiver missed two consecutive practices. The Texans have one practice left before Sunday’s matchup, but no final decision had been announced. Collins suffered the hamstring injury in preparation for Week 2 and was sidelined against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The 27-year-old opened the season with seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Houston’s 36-31 loss to Buffalo. If he is unavailable at Lucas Oil Stadium, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see expanded roles. Tight end Dalton Schultz has been Houston’s top downfield producer through two games, with 16 receptions for 175 yards.
Missing Week 3 would push Collins’ next possible appearance to Week 4, when the Texans are scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys. Collins has produced 1,000 or more receiving yards in each of the last three seasons, including 1,117 in 2025, putting that run at risk. The former Michigan Wolverines player also received an offseason contract adjustment from Houston.
