The Houston Texans have completed their 53-man roster, which now features Sabastian Harsh, an undrafted rookie defensive end from Howe, Texas. Initially, Harsh's chances of making the team appeared slim, but his dedication and impressive preseason performances earned him a place.
Harsh experienced anxiety while awaiting the roster announcement. In an interview on Texans radio, he shared, "I talked to my mom, and my dad and I was just kind of waiting for a phone call... Then I seen the roster get released, and I was like, Oh my gosh. Like, that is pretty cool, man."
After missing the first preseason game due to injury, Harsh made a significant impact in the second game against the Carolina Panthers, recording three tackles, one sack, two quarterback hits, and a pass breakup. Head coach DeMeco Ryans noted Harsh's potential contributions in both pass rushing and run defense, which likely influenced his selection.
Despite this achievement, Harsh remains committed to improvement, stating, "Even still now, like, I haven't done it yet. So, still got a lot more work to do." As the season begins, he will learn from experienced edge rushers Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, and his performance will be closely watched throughout the 2026 season.
