The Houston Texans will not have wide receiver Jayden Higgins available for the entire 2026 season after he suffered a torn ACL. The injury occurred while participating in a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, as reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Higgins was picked 34th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft and had a successful rookie year, recording six touchdowns, 41 receptions, and 525 yards. He became a crucial target for quarterback C.J. Stroud, especially after teammate Tank Dell was injured late in the 2024 season.
In 2025, Higgins caught 41 passes out of 68 targets, significantly increasing his involvement during Houston's nine-game winning streak that concluded the regular season. He scored four touchdowns in the final nine weeks, achieving his highest yardage totals in Weeks 13 and 17.
With Higgins sidelined, the Texans are expected to rely on players like Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to enhance their receiving options. Additionally, there is optimism that Tank Dell, who is recovering from his own injury, may return to the field at some point this season. No further updates on Higgins' recovery timeline have been released.
