The Houston Texans have signed wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley to their practice squad, according to a report by The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov. Tinsley, who is 26 years old and 6 feet 1 inch tall, was previously with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he made eight catches for 116 yards and scored two touchdowns during the last season.
His exit from the Bengals was due to the team's strong wide receiver lineup, which led to interest from several teams.
Paul Dehner Jr. from The Athletic noted that Tinsley is likely to find more playing time in Houston, as the Texans have been actively looking to strengthen their wide receiver depth this month. Tinsley now joins Lewis Bond and Josh Kelly on the Texans' practice squad. He had a notable preseason in 2025, which secured him a spot on Cincinnati's roster.
Although Tinsley went undrafted, he has started four games in 19 regular-season appearances. He is known as a possession receiver with reliable ball skills, though he may struggle with speed and quickness for separation.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein described him as proficient in making challenging catches, particularly in the middle of the field, despite some athletic limitations that could limit his role to a zone-beating position from the slot.
