Baylor football has shared its initial depth chart for the 2026 season, gearing up for the opening game against Auburn. DJ Lagway is named the starting quarterback, with Nate Bennett, Edward Griffin, and Quinn Murphy as backups. Dawson Pendergrass will lead the running back position, supported by Caden Knighten, Michael Turner, Ryelan Morris, and Jacorey Watson.
The wide receiver lineup includes Louis Brown IV and either Dre'lon Miller or Jadon Porter as starters. Gavin Freeman is positioned as the starting slot receiver, with Jayden McGowan serving as a backup. Matthew Klopfenstein is the starting tight end, backed by Tony Livingston, Hawkins Polley, Parker Almanza, Kai Wesley, and Brody Wilhelm.
On the offensive line, Logan Moore is set at left tackle, Nate Kibble at left guard, Koltin Sieracki at center, Asher Hale at right guard, and Kaden Sieracki at right tackle, with backups for each position. Defensively, the Bears will have Kyler Jordan or Jordan Mack at defensive end and Devonte Tezino or Kamren Washington at defensive tackle.
The linebacker positions feature Travion Barnes at MIKE, Kyland Reed at WILL, and either Ryan Davis or Garrick Ponder at JACK.
In the secondary, Devon Jordan and LeVar Thornton Jr. will start at cornerback, with Colby McCalister or Tyler Turner at free safety and Devin Turner or Jacob Redding at strong safety. Rhett Armstrong is designated as the starting field goal kicker and punter, while Dylan Schaub will serve as the long snapper.
