Dominant Start Sets Tone
The Texas Longhorns established control early, jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter before adding another touchdown just before halftime. Arch Manning orchestrated the offensive explosion, connecting with Cam Coleman for a six-yard score and Ryan Wingo for an eight-yard strike in the opening period. The scoring barrage continued in the second quarter when Raleek Brown broke loose for a 13-yard run.
Texas State managed to get on the board late in the half, but the Bobcats’ momentum was short-lived. Davian Jackson rushed for a four-yard touchdown, giving Texas State its only points of the game at 28-7. However, the Longhorns responded immediately with defensive intensity, as Graceson Littleton returned a fumble 59 yards for a touchdown to extend the lead to 35-7.
Offensive Efficiency in Second Half
The third quarter saw Texas pull away further with three consecutive touchdowns. Manning found Coleman again, this time on a 20-yard pass, followed by a 13-yard connection with Hollywood Smothers. Raleek Brown added his second rushing touchdown of the day on a 21-yard run, pushing the score to 49-7.
In the fourth quarter, Texas maintained its dominance. Gianni Spetic kicked a 48-yard field goal to make it 52-7. James Simon capped the scoring with a seven-yard run, bringing the final tally to 59-7. Manning finished with 305 passing yards on 20-of-27 shooting, including four touchdowns and one interception.
