Fifth-Inning Surge Decides Game

The Texas Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-2 on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Chase Field in Phoenix. The decisive moment came in the top of the fifth inning, where the Rangers scored six runs to take control of the game. Prior to that surge, the score was tied 1-1 after the third inning.

Arizona had taken the initial lead in the bottom of the third when Tawa scored on a single by Smith. The Rangers tied the game in the top of the fifth when Langford hit a home run to left center field, which traveled 435 feet.
