Texas breaks through in third
Texas scored the only run it needed in the third inning, then kept adding on in a 6-0 win over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field.
Langford scored on Nimmo’s single to right for a 1-0 lead. Foscue followed with a triple to left that brought in Nimmo and Burger, pushing the Texas lead to 3-0. Díaz then doubled to left, scoring Foscue and giving the Rangers a 4-0 advantage by the end of the inning.
Nimmo adds to the lead
Nimmo provided another run in the fifth with the game’s only home run, a 350-foot shot to left that made it 5-0.
Texas added its final run in the eighth. Lopez singled to center, scoring Burger and moving Pederson to second for the 6-0 final margin.
The Rangers’ scoring came across in three innings: four runs in the third, one in the fifth and one in the eighth. San Francisco did not score.
Bradford, bullpen hold Giants down
Cody Bradford worked 4.1 innings for Texas, allowing five hits and no earned runs with two walks and five strikeouts.
Tyler Alexander earned the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 1.2 innings without allowing a hit or walk and struck out three. Robby Ahlstrom followed with one inning, allowing one hit and no earned runs with one strikeout. Chase Silseth pitched one inning, giving up one hit and one walk with one strikeout. Cole Winn worked one inning, allowing one hit and no earned runs.
Together, the Texas pitchers held San Francisco to no runs in the final score.

Carson Whisenhunt took the loss for San Francisco, falling to 2-3. He allowed four earned runs on five hits and three walks in 3.1 innings, striking out four.
Carson Seymour gave up one earned run on two hits and one walk in 2.2 innings, with two strikeouts. Jason Foley pitched one inning with no hits, no walks and one strikeout. Tristan Beck allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk in one inning, striking out one.
The attendance was 26,098. Texas improved to 57-58, while San Francisco fell to 48-67.
