Lee’s two homers help Giants beat Rangers 5-1 at Globe Life Field

Giants take the second-inning lead

San Francisco created the lead it kept in the top of the second inning, scoring twice before Lee added the game’s biggest swings in a 5-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field.

Gilbert singled to right in the second, and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo as Gilbert advanced to third. Basabe followed with a sacrifice fly to right that brought in Gilbert, giving the Giants a 2-0 lead.

Those two runs were enough for San Francisco, which kept Texas off the scoreboard until the ninth inning.

Lee adds power and another sacrifice fly

Lee supplied the next run in the top of the third, homering to right center on a 410-foot drive to make it 3-0.

The score stayed there until the top of the eighth, when Lee homered again to right center, this one measured at 385 feet, extending the Giants’ lead to 4-0.

San Francisco added its final run in the top of the ninth. Lee hit a sacrifice fly to center, and McCray scored for a 5-0 lead. Texas answered in the bottom of the ninth when Duran homered to left, a 406-foot shot, for the Rangers’ only run.

The game’s three home runs were Lee’s two drives and Duran’s ninth-inning homer.

Webb controls Texas lineup

Logan Webb earned the win for San Francisco, improving to 7-7. He pitched six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out eight.

Keaton Winn followed with 0.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit with no walks and one strikeout for his 12th hold. Sam Hentges added 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing no hits and one walk while striking out one for his seventh hold.

Tristan Beck was charged with one earned run in 0.1 innings, allowing one hit and one walk. Reiver Sanmartin finished with 0.2 scoreless innings, allowing no hits and no walks.

Rangers pitching and records

Cal Quantrill took the loss for Texas, falling to 4-4. He pitched six innings, allowing four hits, one earned run and one walk with four strikeouts.

Ben Peoples pitched one scoreless inning with one walk and one strikeout. Peyton Gray allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk in one inning. Nolan Kingham allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks in one inning, striking out one.

The announced attendance was 23,736. Texas fell to 55-58, while San Francisco improved to 48-65.
