Howe, Texas — San Jose receives up to $1 million in General Allocation Money. The package includes $700,000 that is guaranteed and $300,000 that is conditional, according to MLS and Field Level Media.

The deal followed San Jose’s acquisition of goalkeeper Angus Gunn. It is a roster transaction rather than coverage of a match result.

André Zanotta, FC Dallas’ chief soccer officer, said Daniel understands the league and will compete within the goalkeeper group. Homegrown keeper Michael Collodi had three shutouts in 13 starts this season.

Daniel, 32, took over as San Jose’s starter in 2023 and recorded 15 clean sheets over 86 appearances in all competitions, MLS reported. His U.S. green card means he does not occupy an international roster slot.

Toyota Stadium in Frisco is about 45 miles south of Howe, where FC Dallas is a regional MLS team for North Texas supporters.

FC Dallas has acquired goalkeeper Daniel from the San Jose Earthquakes, giving the club an additional experienced option for the second half of the MLS season.
