Howe, Texas — Gas prices in the Sherman-Denison area averaged $3.8877 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 18, 2026, according to AAA, up from $3.7506 yesterday. That is up from $3.8572 a week ago but higher than $3.7314 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9352, while the national average is $4.4386. Drivers in the Sherman-Denison area are paying below the state average and below the national average.
The Sherman-Denison average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8150. Regular prices are about 16 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.7200, drivers are paying about 117 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Sherman-Denison area averages $5.9301 per gallon, AAA reported.
