Peña powers Astros offense

Jeremy Peña provided the spark Houston needed, hitting two home runs and contributing significantly to the nine-run offensive output. Peña’s first blast came in the third inning, a 351-foot shot to left field that tied the game at 3-3 after a challenge on the call was upheld. He added another in the seventh, launching a 347-foot homer to left field.

Peña also drove in runs via a single in the eighth inning, which scored Meyers, giving Houston a 9-3 lead. His performance helped secure the win for the home team.

Altuve contributes with multi-run homer

Jose Altuve also played a key role, hitting a three-run home run in the sixth inning. The 349-foot shot to left field broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Astros a 6-3 advantage. Alvarez and Paredes scored on the play.

Altuve added another hit later in the game, a double to left field in the seventh inning that scored Alvarez, extending the lead to 7-3. His contributions, combined with Peña’s power, helped control the game’s momentum.

Guardians take early lead, Astros respond

Cleveland started strong, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Walker scored on a throwing error by right fielder Watson, who was fielding a single by Paredes. Paredes advanced to second base on the play.

The Guardians tied the game in the third inning when Rocchio doubled to right field, scoring Bazzana. However, the Astros quickly took the lead when Hoskins hit a two-run home run to left field (376 feet), scoring Rocchio. Peña’s homer followed, making it 3-1 Houston.
