Trevon Diggs, a former All-Pro cornerback with the Dallas Cowboys, has signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This signing marks the second cornerback addition for the Seahawks this week, following the acquisition of Terrion Arnold, who is facing significant legal challenges in Florida.
At 27 years old, Diggs has made a name for himself in the NFL, recording 20 career interceptions and defending 63 passes. He is anticipated to compete for a role in the Seahawks' secondary, which is currently managing injuries.
Previously, Diggs had signed a five-year, $97 million contract extension with the Cowboys in July 2023, but his time there was marred by injuries, limiting him to just 22 games over three seasons.
His departure from the Cowboys followed a series of incidents, including an unusual accident at home where he reported a television fell on him. After requesting to stay in the Washington, D.C. area with his family post-Christmas Day game, which the team denied, he was waived by the Cowboys and quickly claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers.
Details regarding Diggs' expected role with the Seahawks have not yet been revealed.
