University of North Texas Athletics has announced the 2026-27 men's basketball nonconference schedule, which includes nine games at the Super Pit in Denton. The slate was issued by the program and second-year head coach Daniyal Robinson.
North Texas begins at home against Southwest Christian on Nov. 2, followed by McNeese on Nov. 5, Santa Clara on Nov. 11 and South Alabama on Nov. 14. McNeese and Santa Clara made the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament, while South Alabama appeared in the NIT. In all, the schedule features three NCAA Tournament teams from last season and two NIT teams.
The first road game is Nov. 20 at App State in Boone, North Carolina. North Texas then plays Drake, North Dakota State and Boise State at the Snake Rivers Invitational, scheduled for Nov. 27-29 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
The team's remaining nonconference games include Bradley on Dec. 4, Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 6 and Texas State on Dec. 13 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth for the Coast-to-Coast Challenge. North Texas is participating in that event for a second straight year. Winthrop, Bethune-Cookman and the University of the Southwest will visit Denton on Dec. 16, Dec. 20 and Dec. 22, respectively.
