The Houston Texans worked out linebacker Kenneth Murray on Tuesday, but he left the visit without signing a contract. The team is seeking linebacker help after Henry To'oTo'o sustained a shoulder injury. To'oTo'o was put on injured reserve and is expected to miss several months, while Jamal Hill moved from Houston's practice squad to the active roster.
Murray, 27, was a first-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers, selected 23rd overall in 2020. He had been an All-American at Oklahoma. After joining the Tennessee Titans in 2024, he led the team in tackles. Tennessee later traded him to the Dallas Cowboys for two draft picks during the next offseason.
Murray opened all 16 games for Dallas last season and totaled 81 tackles. His other statistics included four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one sack and one fumble recovery, leaving him second on the Cowboys in tackles. He has visited the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants for workouts since the offseason started.
Houston could consider him for a practice-squad role, with the possibility of elevating him for games, but no deal was reported. The Texans are scheduled to host the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Reliant Stadium, with kickoff set for noon on CBS.
