Denison, Texas — A year after devastating floods impacted the Texas Hill Country, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has reported the distribution of approximately $82 million in recovery assistance for survivors. The foundation, established in 1982 and based in Kerrville, initiated its relief fund on July 4, 2025, coinciding with the onset of the flooding that claimed over 130 lives.
With total donations surpassing $150 million, this effort stands as one of the largest privately led disaster-recovery initiatives in Texas history. Austin Dickson, the foundation's CEO, who personally experienced loss due to the flooding, noted that the anniversary evokes both sorrow and hope.
The foundation acted swiftly, allocating $15 million within 45 days to over 50 local nonprofits that provided essential financial aid and crisis support.
