Langford’s Early Blast Sets Tone
Wyatt Langford provided the initial spark for the Texas Rangers with a first-pitch home run in the first inning. The blast traveled 418 feet to left field, giving Texas a 1-0 lead over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The Rangers would later extend their advantage in the second inning when Nick Foscue and Jake Freeman scored on a three-run homer by Masataka Yoshida, which measured 381 feet to left center.
Rangers Build Lead in Fourth
Texas increased its margin in the fourth inning when Marcus Nimmo doubled to center field. The hit drove in one run, making the score 6-2 after Osuna and Langford scored. The Rangers’ offense was supported by strong pitching from Nathan Eovaldi, who earned the win. Eovaldi pitched seven innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs while striking out six batters. Red Sox Rally Falls Short
The Red Sox attempted to close the gap in the sixth inning when Contreras homered to left center, a 392-foot shot that made the score 6-3. Boston added another run in the eighth inning when Abreu singled to right field, scoring Yoshida for a 6-4 final margin. Despite the late push, the Rangers held on for the victory.
Pitching Staffs Deliver
Texas relief pitchers Jakob Junis and Jacob Latz closed out the game. Junis pitched 0.2 innings, allowing three hits and one earned run, while Latz secured the save with 1.1 scoreless innings and two strikeouts. For Boston, Connelly Early took the loss after pitching 4.2 innings, giving up 11 hits and six earned runs. Greg Weissert, Ryan Watson, and Tommy Kahnle pitched in relief, combining for 4.1 scoreless innings. The game drew an attendance of 32,006. The Red Sox fell to 29-40, while the Rangers improved to 35-36.
