DeGrom Anchors Perfect Start
Jacob deGrom delivered a masterful performance on the mound, securing his fifth win of the season while holding Cleveland scoreless through six innings. The Rangers starter allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out six batters. His efficiency set the tone for a complete team victory that saw Texas score in every inning where they had offensive opportunities.
Early Power Surge
The Rangers jumped on the board in the first inning when Foscue launched a 417-foot home run to left field. The blast drove in Jung, giving Texas an early 2-0 lead. Cleveland’s starting pitcher, Joey Cantillo, struggled to contain the Rangers' offense, ultimately taking the loss after five innings of work. Cantillo surrendered nine hits and seven earned runs while striking out seven batters before being relieved.
The scoring continued in the third inning, where Texas added four more runs to extend their advantage. Jung followed up his first-inning RBI with a 382-foot home run to right field, making it 3-0. Duran then doubled to left, bringing home Foscue and Nimmo to push the lead to 5-0. Burger contributed with an infield single to the pitcher, allowing Duran to score and making it 6-0.
Offensive Continuity
The Rangers maintained their momentum in the fourth inning when Langford hit a 381-foot home run to left, increasing the margin to 7-0. Cantillo was replaced by Will Dion, who pitched two innings and allowed one earned run on three hits. Austin Hedges finished the game for Cleveland, pitching one inning and giving up two earned runs on four hits.
In the sixth inning, Helman added another home run, this one measuring 378 feet to left field, making the score 8-0. The Rangers’ bullpen took over from there, with Peyton Gray, Tyler Alexander, and Luis Curvelo each pitching one scoreless inning. Gray struck out one batter, while Alexander and Curvelo allowed no hits or walks.
