Nimmo Drives Rangers Past Marlins
Harrison Nimmo’s three-hit performance anchored the Texas Rangers’ offense, propelling them to a 4-3 victory over the Miami Marlins on Monday. Nimmo’s contributions were pivotal, particularly in the eighth inning when his double drove in the go-ahead run that ultimately decided the contest.
The Rangers established an early lead in the fourth inning. Jonas Duran launched a 407-foot home run to center field, and Nimmo followed to score, giving Texas a 2-0 advantage. The Marlins responded in the fifth inning when Jake Burger’s sacrifice fly allowed Michael Caissie to cross the plate, narrowing the deficit to 2-1.
Miami tied the game in the sixth inning. Jesus Lopez scored on a triple by Edward Olivares, making it 2-2. The Marlins appeared to take the lead later in the inning, but the Rangers quickly regained control in the eighth.
Eighth Inning Decides the Outcome
The decisive action occurred in the top of the eighth. Nimmo doubled to right field, driving in Duran to put the Rangers ahead 3-2. Nimmo advanced to third base, and Andrew Benintendi scored on a sacrifice fly by Nathaniel Lowe, extending the lead to 4-2.
The Marlins mounted a brief rally in the bottom of the eighth. Bryan De La Cruz doubled to right field, scoring Jake Burger to make it 4-3. However, the rally ended without a tying run, and the Rangers held on for the win.
