Late-Inning Surge
The Boston Red Sox secured a 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday at Fenway Park, driven by critical offensive production in the seventh and eighth innings. After a tightly contested early game, Rafaela’s single to left field in the seventh inning provided the decisive momentum, followed by Duran’s powerful home run in the eighth that sealed the win.
The game began with back-and-forth action in the third inning. Texas took an early 1-0 lead when Lopez scored on a fielding error by second baseman Kiner-Falefa, allowing Langford to reach second base safely. Boston responded immediately in the same frame. Gasper singled to right field to tie the game at 1-1, and Abreu followed with another right-field single, scoring Mayer to give the Red Sox a 2-1 advantage.
Pitching and Scoring
Texas reclaimed the lead in the fourth inning when Helman hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Jung to make it 2-2. The score remained deadlocked until the seventh inning. Rafaela’s hit to left field resulted in two runs, as Kiner-Falefa and Narváez both scored, pushing Boston ahead 4-2. Monasterio advanced to second base on the play.
The eighth inning proved decisive for the final outcome. Burger homered to center field, measuring 421 feet, to narrow the gap to 4-3. However, Duran answered with a 400-foot home run to right center, scoring Contreras and extending Boston’s lead to 6-3. No further runs were scored.
