Howe, Texas — Gas prices in the Sherman-Denison area averaged $3.6400 per gallon for regular unleaded on July 17, 2026, according to AAA, up from $3.6260 yesterday. That is up from $3.3810 a week ago but higher than $3.4380 a month ago.

The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.5680, while the national average is $3.9810. Drivers in the Sherman-Denison area are paying above the state average and below the national average.

The Sherman-Denison average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8150. Regular prices are about 20 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.8350, drivers are paying about 81 cents more per gallon.

Diesel in the Sherman-Denison area averages $4.7360 per gallon, AAA reported.
