A severe weather event has caused significant damage in Gunter, according to the Grayson County Sheriff's Office. The incident resulted in several campers and mobile homes being flipped over in the area. The sheriff's office noted on social media that the damage was concentrated in the 1000 block of Fox Lane, which is the location of Good Shepherd RV Park and Storage.

Gunter is situated approximately 9 miles southwest of Howe. Local authorities are assessing the full extent of the destruction in the community.

The storm system that impacted Gunter was part of a broader severe weather pattern across North Texas. Multiple tornadoes, massive hail, and damaging winds tore through the region, leaving injuries and major destruction in their wake. The National Weather Service reported that the tornadoes ranged in severity from EF-0 to EF-2.

Damage was widespread across the metroplex and surrounding counties. In Denton County, severe storms caused significant damage on Sunday evening, including a 45-to 50-foot hole in the roof of the Walmart Distribution Center in Sanger. One of the hardest-hit places was Bonham, where wind and rain caused trees to hit homes and power lines throughout the town.

Officials in Wise and Parker counties confirmed two storm-related deaths on Saturday as rescue crews responded to major damage. Neighbors in Springtown and Runaway Bay are grieving after deadly weekend storms claimed two lives. Runaway Bay is in recovery mode after a deadly tornado hit the edges of its southwestern, western, and northern corners, Mayor Herman White said.

In Mineral Wells, officials said at least two major manufacturers were impacted. A rural North Texas school district canceled classes for the week after a night of severe storms. Thousands of Palo Pinto County residents were without power Monday morning following the severe storms.

As North Texas starts to thaw out, experts advise residents to be cautious of roofing companies offering free inspections, warning of potential scams. Residents are also dealing with the aftermath of flooding and structural damage, with some waking up to damage from Sunday night's storms that had winds up to 80 mph.

Further details regarding the specific timeline of the Gunter incident and the total number of affected residents are not yet clear.
