The Texas Rangers overcame a significant late-game deficit to secure a 7-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels, with Wyatt Langford providing the winning run in the ninth inning. Langford’s single to left field drove in Osuna, breaking a 6-6 tie and giving Texas the lead they would not relinquish.

The win improves the Rangers’ record to 47-46, while the Angels fall to 37-57 on the season.

Scoring Sequence

Los Angeles established an early advantage, taking a 4-1 lead by the third inning. John Nimmo opened the scoring with a home run to left center in the first inning. Josh Jung followed with a single that scored Nathaniel Lowe, extending the lead to 2-0. In the third, Mike Trout grounded out to shortstop, allowing Andrew Heaney to score, making it 2-1. Salvador Perez then homered to center, bringing home Nimmo and pushing the Angels’ advantage to 4-1.

The Angels extended their lead to 5-1 in the fourth inning when Adolis Garcia homered to center. In the sixth, Garcia added another RBI with a ground-rule double that scored Corey Seager, making the score 6-1.

The Rangers mounted a comeback in the seventh inning. Nathaniel Lowe singled to right, scoring Heaney, to make it 6-2. Later in the inning, Josh Jung singled to center, driving in Lowe and Seager to cut the deficit to 6-4. Salvador Perez followed with a single to center, scoring Trout and moving Jung to third. Adolis Garcia then singled to left, scoring Jung and bringing the score to 6-5. In the same frame, Nathaniel Lowe singled to left, scoring Perez to tie the game at 6-6.

Pitching Performance

Texas starter Nathan Eovaldi pitched six innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits while striking out ten batters. He was supported by relief pitchers who kept the Angels off the board until the ninth inning. Jacob Latz recorded the final outs of the eighth inning with three strikeouts. Cole Winn earned the win by pitching the ninth inning, securing the 4-2 record in his last appearance.

For the Angels, Reid Detmers started, giving up five earned runs on seven hits in four innings. Kirby Yates took the loss, falling to 0-4 on the season, after allowing a hit in his 0.1 innings of work.

The game was played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, with an attendance of 29,646.
